Queensland Health’s action-packed eHealth Expo was a success again this year, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees.
The action-packed one-day event, which explored how the latest digital innovation is improving healthcare and patient outcomes, attracted more than 1200 clinicians, healthcare professionals, IT experts, vendors, start-ups and academia.
It also attracted world-renowned speakers such as Professor Andrew Morris, the director of Health Data Research UK, who was impressed by Queensland’s advancement in digital healthcare.
“What I’ve seen here in Queensland today tells me you’ve got a very digitally mature environment in your health services,” he said.
“Most importantly, you have talent which is going to deliver outstanding innovation which will benefit patients.”
eHealth Queensland Acting Chief Executive Warren Prentice said the expo represented a great opportunity for Queensland’s healthcare community to partner with private enterprise and look at the latest in digital products and services.
“It was great to see start-ups and business engaging to discuss challenges and present solutions,” Warren said.
“Technology and innovation is key to enabling our digital healthcare future and we recognise the role private enterprise plays.”
Planning is already underway for next year, with exciting new ideas in the works.
“It’s important to get as much feedback as possible from attendees, exhibitors and sponsors. Everyone’s contribution is key to continuing to build on the success and improve this event, which brings together healthcare and digital innovation all under the one roof.”
